First Amendment rights. Over the last 20 years I’ve paid dearly for the right to express thoughts, opinions, and words. Have stood toe to toe with those that would stifle that inalienable right. The scars of those battles proudly worn today.
The right of free speech is to be cherished. One’s words, not open to interpretation or narrative shifts. One’s currency. We should protect the right to stand up and be heard in our own voice, not someone else’s.
Run Guru Says was founded as a conduit of excellence in the pursuit of one’s personal potential as a distance runner. It became a pipeline of life lessons along the way. Almost twenty years of daily writing, close to 2 million words. Still plenty left to say.
Have been told to “Hush!” before. Maintained my pride and principles in the face of challenging the status quo. Have utilized a thesaurus full of sledge hammers, velvet hammers, and kid gloves to exercise free speech.
Indiahoma is starting to find a new voice. One that reflects moving forward instead of relying on the status quo. It’s an exciting time and I’m very happy to be a part of it.
