It’s Fall Y’all! Linda, Desi, and I are walking 20 miles a week. Building strength for the mountains. Their beauty has called generations, very happy to take our turn. We’ve topped Granite Peak, Elk Mountain, and Mount Scott, a good start in our first year. Still a lot of room on our belts for notches.
The Indiahoma Fall Festival will be at the Indiahoma City Hall this Saturday, fun kicks off at 9:00 a.m. The Festival features, vendors, cookies, costumes, coloring contests, and more. Indiahoma is a little known artist community. You need to visit the shops inside City Hall, you’ll be impressed by our local talent!
Food For Thought. Your scribe has toured the soon to be opened cafe in City Hall. Every attention has been paid to getting the space in tip top shape. Clean as a whistle from stem to stern. Look for an opening sometime in November.
Indy is in a really nice position on the food scene. Chuck’s Corner has been cranking out consistent comestibles, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Chuck’s will offer a dinner special tonight from 4-8 p.m. Hamburger Steak with brown gravy and grilled onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and dessert. A full meal for only $10!
DJ’s Roadside Grill (just west of Cache, near Quanah Paker Rd), offers an elevated food experience featuring local egss and beef. Just around the corner (1101 Wildflower Loop) Bitchn Fried Rice food truck is featuring daily soup specials, 16 oz. or 32 oz. servings. Each order comes with homemade bread and homemade butter.
Lil Mama’s (712 W. C Ave) in Cache serves up unlimited steaming cups of joe alongside one of the best breakfast plates (pick one!) in Comanche County. Open for lunch and good reviews on their Friday night catfish special.
Head to Snyder to Rooster’s and you’ll enjoy the best breakfast in Kiowa County. The “Cyclone” rates near the very top of my all time breakfast indulgence. Also in Snyder is the Hoppin Jalapeno, some legitimately good Mexican food.
If I’ve whetted your appetite, please join us this noon for our Senior Pot Luck Lunch, at City Hall. Some seriously good vittles.
