Will: So how has life been in Ft. Collins? Plenty of new routes and new faces?
Jordan: Its good, tons of sweet running trails, bike lanes on almost every road and they actually clear the paved trails off when it snows. No complaints here…
Will: This is your 3rd or 4th Marathon, why did you select NYC for this effort?
Jordan: 4th, I haven’t ran in a major marathon yet, have never been there and figured there isnt a better way to see a city in a day then run 26 miles through it.
Will: Do you feel your altitude training has been a benefit in this training cycle? How has your training been the last few weeks?
Jordan: Ill tell you on Sunday, havent really ran at sea level since i moved out here. Training has been great, its been hard adjusting but I think Ill be ok.
Will: Do you have any specific goals? Any particular workouts or races you can look back on to guide your expectations?
Jordan: under 2:40, the best workout i had was kinda of a two day ordeal. Ran 20 on a Saturday, then a half the next day at race pace, ended up getting 40 in the two days and still felt alright the next day so that was pretty promising, well see what happens on Sunday…
Will: I know our mate Matt Heesch is also running NYC. Are you two planning on working together at all?
Jordan: I think we are in different start areas and they dont merge until mile 8 so I doubt we will see each other during the race, he’s a lot faster then me too…
Will: Have you given any thought to what might be up next for you? Any races or events you want to do?
Jordan: XC ski season is about to start so Ill do as many races as I can, pretty psyched for that. Going to miss LHF this year, maybe next year…
Will: Good luck and Giddyup!
Jordan: Thanks 🙂
