“Promoting Habits of Service, Frugality, and Endurance.” A new chapter in my musings reflecting society as I see it. Personal observations and opinions on a wide range of topics. I’ll still occasionally comment on the running community, with complete impunity now.
Nebraska Run Guru Elite Inc. has shifted our focus now to coaching and consulting. (Free coaching for youth 18 & under.) Our event management efforts retired save one.
It was with heavy hearts that we canceled the Two Rivers Winter Fitness Series. The loss of my father and the time necessary to settle affairs taking precedent over all else. As part of that process Linda and I will be renovating the old homestead. Five miles to the Wichita Mountains, a great escape from Nebraska winters, final gift from dad.
Valley ONE also canceled. We had hoped our world class race would catch the imagination of more runners. Nebraska’s first professional marathon and half marathon. Twelve state soil records. 5 years of work. Reading like a Machiavellian tale. Or a Ghost story. Retained my manhood and principles through it all.
We will conduct the Nebraska Trail Run at Lake Wanahoo in November. Our oldest race still running. The support of Wahoo sponsors and community making it a joy. Enabling us to in turn support our chosen athletes, high school programs, and coaching outreach.
From 2002-2022, twenty years of service to the Nebraska running community. Near to 100 races put on. Most were Nebraska Association Road Championships. And Cross Country Championships and Trail Run Championships.
I’ve not renewed my personal or professional USATF Nebraska Association membership. The program I founded 20 years ago now left to history. USATF Oklahoma on deck.
A New Start.
