Our Lady Falcons took their unbeaten season to the fabled Kearney State Championships course. State Runner Up to last year’s returning champs from Boone Central and those running Weeders (Suzanne Weeder Einspahr was a 16:15 5K runner for me back in Team Nebraska’s heyday. She would represent the United States internationally twice as well.) Led by freshman Olivia and Maria Malousek, our gals return their top 6 runners next fall and go in as the heavy favorites for next year’s title. #Giddyup #Falcons
Layton Hall leads and wins the Illinois Class 1A Regional meet held Saturday. Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond (ALAH) taking the team title against some of the state’s top schools. Illinois’ response to covid is to contest seeded waves of 3 miles in Illinois. You pit your top 3 runners against the other schools top 3, then runners 4-6 in their own races, with scores combined. Layton (15:33), Logan Beckmier (16:01, pictured), Lyle Adcock (16:14), Jace Green (16:38) and Jacob Adcock (16:40) rounding out the scoring. #Giddyup #Knights
