We’ve landed well, the r-pod under a shady cottonwood at my favorite dojo. For the next week or two we’ll be doing daily laps at Two Rivers State Recreation Area. We’ve had a great working relationship with the park, Superintendent Mike Carrick being a de facto member of our road race management team since 2012.
One of the first things we agreed to was that no paint would be used in marking our course, park rules. I had to go into the office and explain to Mike that the blue “S” and “F” painted up were not ours.
No not mine! In 2015 I measured 1 Mile, 5K, 8K, and 10K distances, for USATF Certification (Will Lindgren’s Festival of Races.) I explained to Mike that the marks were well off my own start and finish, looking like they were quite possibly laid out with gps, or maybe driven off in a car, inaccurate at any rate. Either way, I hope you’ll use my map if you are inclined to take advantage of the pancake flat, lightning fast courses I have designed. And please, respect park rules!
