Twenty plus years on the Gulf Coast gave me ample opportunity to deal with cones of uncertainty. Approximations of extrapolations regarding landfall or other impacts. You never know when it comes to Mother Nature.
Today I’m dealing in what is known.
The Omaha Running Club hosted the Midwest Region RRCA Half Marathon Champs as part of the Heartland Marathon weekend. Comprising a multi state reach, bolstered by icon Frank Shorter. Your champions are 37 year old Ann Hubl of Hebron in 1:35:43 and Jeremiah Doyle, 35 of Lincoln in 1:20:04. Congratulations to the fastest RRCA cats in the Midwest!
Nebraska Run Guru Elite, Inc. As Executive Director I’m all ears with our board of directors (Stacy Shaw, Linda Kunasek, Pete Kostelnick, Kyle Clouston, and Jerrod Anzalone). While I’m passionate about being In It To Win It, as a club we have a civic responsibility to do more for the sport. Agreed.
NRGE Medical Director Bill Weeks is a fine example and representative towards that end. On “loan” to the Omaha Running Club at yesterday’s Heartland Marathon (87 finishers), Half Marathon (253 finishers) and 10K (107 finishers). He and Danielle Jones serving in that capacity for the second year in a row. Guled Jama (3:01:33) and Shannon Suing (3:15:26) the speediest at the 26.2.
I’ve also promised our LDR Chair that I will be happy to donate timing services for our USATF Fall Cross Country Champs on Nov. 13th.
Happy Happy Joy Joy.
Linda’s nephew is a sophomore at Burke. A stud that has great speed and strength. He recently taught himself to do a round off back flip. What I’m digging is his skill on the gridiron. Hear this! Five touchdowns of 40 yards or more! This weekend’s 70 yarder the longest of the bunch.
Grant Wintheiser wins this weekend’s Race for the Cure. And had we the chance I could have fielded a 1st or 2nd O/A at M2M. Cone of Certainty.
