Getting this one done so I can get out for another Killer Tuesday workout. We’re doing two long runs a week. Long on Sunday nice and easy followed by the same distance on Tuesday with some intensity. Headed to the soft dirt roads at Two Rivers State Park for this effort. Those and the dirt/gravel roads on the Scenic Sarpy/Douglas route have provided the legs with just the surface to absorb the high mileage we’ve been doing. I can’t imagine doing them on the Keystone Sidewalk or a treadmill.
Caught up with an old friend on Sunday’s run. He was marveling that there was time enough in the day to get this workload in. And I do feel fortunate that being a stay at home dad affords me the necessary minutes and hours every day. I cook, clean, run, do laundry, nap, cook and clean again, take care of Miles, Allison, & Katie, clean some more and then off to bed. Repeat. It is really a rather spartan lifestyle but suits my simple approach to living. I do manage to squeeze in just a wee bit of volunteer work somewhere in there. Not sure that an 8 hour a day job would be any less difficult. What would you do if your schedule was similar?
Want to give some extra credit to the Leprechaun Chase. They do pay out gift certificates to the top 3 men & women, $100, $75, and $50. Plus I believe the top finishers get a free entry into next year’s race. Not sure where the gift certificates are to but a nice touch nonetheless.
