And a fine Tuesday morning to you all! Good, Clean, Living. #farmstrong
I got a whole bunch of emails and texts, mucho curioso about the “other tall guy” in yesterday’s picture. Without further adieu I am pleased and proud to introduce our newest Nebraska Run Guru Elite member. Kevin Joerger.
From Kevin-
“After many years in SoCal, I’m trying something new in Omaha. Will ran into me by coincidence and his passion was immediately contagious. Running makes me a better version of myself; I can’t wait to get back into competition. Originally from Thousand Oaks, CA. I also enjoy exploring new places, rock climbing, and obsessing over fantasy football”.
Kevin graduated last year from Loyola Marymount University, suma cum laude, top of his graduating class, BS Chemistry Degree. USTFCCCA all-academic honors. While there he ran for the LIons. Also excelled there. Personal bests of 3:56 for the 1500, 23:55 8K, 14:10 track 5K, and a school record 29:38 track 10K.
I introduced Drew Prescott last week. Told him he was the pillar on which our middle distance and track success would be built upon. And made a promise that he would be a lightning rod to attract similarly talented athletes.
So now we have our Twin Towers. The Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwan (Houston Rockets way back in the day) of the running world. Kevin has his eye on moving up to the half marathon, I’m thinking Houston of course in January.
But you won’t see these fellas race until they are ready to be In It To Win It. Viva la difference!
NRGE. Arguably already the best trail and ultra club in the Midwest. Pete Kostelnick the 2015 Badwater 135 Champion. Our marathoners top Nebraska male and female at both Lincoln and Boston this year. And with the addition of Drew and Kevin, ready to challenge Lincoln Running Co Racing. Grand design to shift the power balance back east of the Platte now nearly complete.
But not yet! Stay tuned.
