A phrase that has drawn lots of laughs, criticism, questions, and as it turns out, Real Results. I cranked out a set of 1Ks this morning and the results are pretty (relatively) amazing. Killer Coach is sending the workouts for those of us heading to Seattle and a large number of us are choosing to partake. The progress is evident. Killer has coached our middle distance corps for the last 3 years with Great Results. Shannon Stenger, Paul Wilson, Peter vd Westhuizen, David Adams, and now this group of masters that will tackle USA Club Cross. This is the hardest training I’ve done since the McLatchie Marathon Method back in early 2009.
And the fastest.
And the most enjoyable. Instead of the typical 55-60 mpw I’m averaging just around 40-45. The legs feel marvelous if not young. Strong if no longer supple. Beer & Bagel this weekend and I’m in it to win it (at least my age group).
Some results from this past weekend: Shain Kephart took 3rd overall at the Red Kettle Run in 16:38. Can’t find any results but I’d be interested to know who finished ahead of him. Steve Stender took 4th overall at the Council Bluffs Half Marathon in a pr 1:23:02. Angie Ross ran the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival 10K in a pr 52:21, John Tully prd at 15K in Tulsa turning in a nice 1:21:50. Enita Larsen (5:45) and Amee Rief (5:12) ran the Marine Corps Marathon. Everyone’s hard work from the summer/fall paying big dividends! Matt Schneider and Emily Kraus took the overall wins at the Monster Dash. Bob Harris and Erin Scoggins won the Costume Contest as Little Bo Peep and Her Sheep.
Hope you got to see the live feed from Vala’s covering the Monster Dash. Thanks to KETV for the love. They also ran an interview with me on Sunday morning about TNB. Thanks to everyone for the shout outs, I’m surprised y0u recognized me with the costume.
John Tully spreading Peace Love Run during the Tulsa Run.
Erin & Bob getting some face time Saturday morning.
Showing my best side at the start of the 3-Legged races!
ADD= me going to my important meeting yesterday, sitting in the office for 15:00 and then asking and finding out that the meeting is today. My own little busy world inside my head, its a wonder I can find my rear sometimes.
