Viva la difference! I encourage everyone to attend the next Indiahoma Town Board meeting. Monday, October 2 at 5:00 p.m. Agenda is posted the Friday prior to meeting at the city offices. You will be impressed with the efficient dispensation of civic duties. You’ll want to bring your ears and eyes. *Editor’s note: If you are unable to attend but are still a concerned citizen all documents are public record and available for inspection at the city offices located at Town Of Indiahoma, 900 Showplace Blvd.
The Board of Trustees (Mayor Juanelle Webster, Bobby Sorrells, Don Probst, and City Clerk Jodee Ulloa) convened and discussed the agenda. Items included crafting and adopting language designating a public comment period prior to the Call to Order. This is near and dear and I’ll be following closely. Items on the Projects List for the 5 Year Plan were considered with all being tabled due to lack of funding availability. *Indiahoma is vastly more reliant on grant money than taxes and fees.* Current applications are with REAP, CDBG, and OWRB.
The Board approved a getting a second opinion and third bid to replace screws on the roof of the Community Center.
Final monies of ARPA funds in the amount of $4186.02 were approved towards the reclamation/renovation of the cafe. The cafe and all equipment is owned by the City of Indiahoma.
The Board then moved to the Public Works Authority agenda.
Request for Proposals were addressed with the awarding of contract to “Hometown Cafe”, new management for the much needed food space!
Discussions were held regarding the list (published) of homeowners that are delinquent on water and/or trash payments. Arrears are well (no pun intended) into five figures, an always pressing concern.
Meeting adjourned.
This Sunday is the Indiahoma Volunteer Fire Department’s 30th annual fundraiser. From 11:30-2:00 at the Indiahoma High School auditorium. Some really swell auction items, from firearms to fruit pies. Also a raffle for $2500 first prize at $20 a throw, could be your lucky day!
