Happy New Year Indiahoma! Time for Optimism, Aspiration and Determination. Let all of our resolutions be toward living our very best lives. Even if just one tiny thing, together we can make a big difference in this world.
Let peace and brotherhood be chief among our goals. And empathy, walk a mile in another’s moccasins as it were. You may touch someone and change their lives without ever knowing it.
Let our strides be on the sunny side, clear, purposeful and exhilarating. May our destinations deliver happiness through work well done.
Let us grapple, as necessary, with strength and conviction. May our successes be humble if hard earned.
NEWS: There will be no scheduled bulk trash pickup over the next couple of months. Please use the city dump if debris/rubbish/detritus/flotsam/jetsam needs disposed of.

Check the back of this month’s water bill. The City of Indiahoma is required by law to make a quarterly report on drinking water violations.
“Our water system recently violated drinking water standards. Although this was not an emergency, as our customers, you hvae a right to know what happened, what you should do, and what we are doing to correct this situation.”
“Indiahoma Public Works Authority Has Levels of Total Trihalomethanes (TTHMs) Above Drinking Water Standards”
“We routinely monitor for the presence of drinking water contaminants. Testing results we received for the indicated time period(s) show that our system exceeds the standard, or maximum contaminate level (MCL), for total trihalomethanes (TTHM). The standard for TTHM is 0.080 mg/L, it is determined by averaging all the samples collected at each sample location for the past 12 months. The level of total trihalomethanes average at our system’s locations was the following:
Twelve-month time period Location running annual average with sx location
Fourth Quarter 2023 o.152 MG/L Asenap
What should I do? There is nothing you need to do unless you have a severely compromised immune system, have an infant or are elderly. These people may have an increased risk and should seed advice about drinking water from their health care providers.
What does this mean? This is not an emergency. If it had been, you would have been notified immediately. However, some people who drink water containing trihalomethanes in excess of the MCL over many years may experience problems with their liver, kidneys, or central nervous system, and have an increased risk of getting cancer.
Corrective action: What happened? What is being done? The pipes are being flushed out more regularly and we are also working with Comanche County Rural Water District #4 and an engineer to help fix these problems.
For more information, please call Jodee Ulloa at (580)246-3572 or 900 Showplace Blvd.
Please share this information with all other people who drink this water, especially those who may have not received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and business.) You can do this by posting in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.”
