Farewell Edition.
Thank you Indiahoma, we love you and we’ll miss you. You’ve accepted Linda and me as part this community, made us feel like family. It is y’all that will resonate deep with fond memories.
I would be risking oversight if I try and thank everyone personally. I must however point to Pauline and Coretta Igo as the angels they were to my dad and have been to me in my turn.
Zane and Matilda Klein, you were the best neighbors we could have ever hoped for. Karen Roark, you are right there with them. Dons Nalley and Probst, we had much time well spent too.
Rebecca, thank you for sharing your beautiful children Teagan & Jameson with us, as close to grandparents as we may ever get.
Indiahoma First Baptist Church. Solid Rock of Indiahoma. Pastor Scott Patton. Strong Men. Our church family.
All the Women of Indiahoma. Your dedication to charity and service unrivaled anywhere.
My cousins Carrie, Carla, and Carl Frank. Getting to know you as adults has been a blessing.
I’ll miss the stories that were shared with us about my family. I’ll miss the endless view to the South. I’ll miss the mountains to the North. I’ll miss the mesquites to the East. I’ll miss the night skies, with a million stars. I’ll miss the nocturnal yips and howls of the coyotes. I’ll miss the peace and quiet and stillness of our remoteness. I’ll miss this property, the house we converted into a home. I’ll miss the fruits of our labors. Our efforts now heavy with strawberries, plums, peaches, and blackberries and cherries.
We look forward to the family that will write their own chapter at 307 Dillon St.
We look forward to the completion of the Katie Lindgren Memorial Park.
We look forward to coming back for We Are Indiahoma 5K & 1 Mile.
We look forward to seeing y’all the next time.
Our final gesture to the town, donating 5 lots at the corner of Showcase & Dillon in loving memory of grandma Katie. Pictured L-R, Alvin Cargill, Carla Cargill, me, Mayor Juanelle Webster, my dear sweet Linda, Don Probst on her shoulder, Bobby Sorrells, Don Nalley, and Jodee Ulloa.
