Sorely tempted to go for a run this morning but chose to hop on the bike and encourage a mate through her 1K repeats. Worked on drills, core, and upper body during the recoveries. Yawn.
These Olympics are wearing me out. Up at 4:00 am yesterday to get ready for the Women’s Marathon viewing party, thanks to our friends at Sunrize Donuts for the contribution. Finally called it a day after watching Bolt do his thing. No matter if he gets the W in the 200 or not, I’m sticking with Carl Lewis as the greatest track & field athlete of my lifetime.
We had a good turnout for the marathon and then it was to the dojo for some long slow distance, I’m getting a lot of miles on the Felt even if they aren’t Real Bike pace. Always good to see the social and fun and general fitness types enjoying their own pursuits. And my favorite group of pedestrians, thanks for the shout out.
While most of the Good Mates were at my house, 13 year old Seth Hirsh took the overall win at the Lake Wehrspann 10K in 35:09. That might be a state record for his age on a USATF Certified Course. Giddyup young man!

How can I not blow my own horn over picking Farah-Rupp as 1-2 in the Men’s 10000 meters. My bronze pick was 4th and my dark horse took 3rd, how do I do it?
