I’ve thrown everything at Michel Davy, except the proverbial repository of dirty dishes. Still feathering the edges of her talent, no longer surprised when she amazes me. Last night I tossed 3 X 2 Miles @ 12:00 (6:00 easy recovery jog btw each). Nailed it. And pulled her mates Jessica Pape and Tammy Consbruck to fast times en route. A true team effort with Kyle serving up spot on pacing duties (its ok in training, not races, get it?).
You want to test yourself against NRGE? Come on out to the Boystown 5 Mile and get your fill. I’ll be reprising my role as lead bike and nothing would please me more than seeing y’all chasing my mates.
I’ve been getting good response to Tuesday’s call for athletes. I knew you cats were out there. Could feel your dormant competitive vibes (I’m a veritable talent tuning fork). Sensed the dynamic tension coiled in your legs and hearts.
I’ll quote Tonya Huseman who posed the following some years ago, “Who the hell are all these people?” I don’t think Tonya races anymore but I hope she found the Universal Answer. They’re the Real Runners. They’re everywhere. They’re coming to get you.
We also had four novices show up last night. By eve’s end they had the requisite sheen of accomplishment that lets me know they’ll be back next week. Just as proud of those that jogged/walked as I am of my own mates. You don’t have to be competitive to benefit from being around that Spirit.
Ah, the benefits of aged wisdom:
