Saturday February 29th. Leap Day. Made up day that keeps our calendar copasetic. USA Olympic Trials Marathon. My Favorite Day. Dozens of viewing parties planned, I hope you’ve a cushion for one. Linda and I are going pioneer and hunkering down in southeast Saunders Co. until covoid-19 blows over.
Back to the Trials. A damn, damn hilly course, damn hilly. Thirty five turns also killing speed. Times will be slower across the board. The elevation profile: https://www.atlanta2020trials.com/course/elevation-chart

John Kellogg Says
So here are my picks. Rupp, Ward, Lagat. Sisson, Hasay, Linden. A couple sentimental favorites (Lagat, Linden), a couple of youngsters (Sisson, Hasay) and a couple of proven talents (Rupp, Ward). I expect breakthrough performances to upset my applecart of picks. That is part of the special magic of the Trials Marathon. Over 600 dreamers will toe the line, some small handful will make it the most memorable race of their lives. On Leap Day Of Course.
