Here’s some stuff off the top of my head.
Huge thanks to Nancy Sutton Moss and Gary Bredehoft. Job well done!
Edward Tabut’s 2:17:07 on that course is simply amazing.
I heard so many times about HOW COMPETITIVE the Half and the Full have “become”. How the competition was better this year than memory. What the heck has happened over the last several years? Oh yeah.
In the if it didn’t matter last Friday, maybe it matters now category, LRC Racing barely took the measure of Nebraska Run Guru Elite in the Will’s Imaginary Team Competition.
Nate Stack (8th), Ryan Regnier (10th), Chad Sellers (11th) for total of 29 points. NRGE Cameron Cummings (5th), Jerrod Anzalone (12th), and Walter Key (16th) for a total of 31 points. You take it to 5 places like I wanted and NRGE takes the title. Like it or not. NRGE placed 5 finishers in the top 25. Notice Served!
***UPDATE– THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT CAUGHT MY SILLY ERROR. OF COURSE NATE STACK RUNS FOR TEAM NEBRASKA, NOT LRC RACING. BOY DO I HAVE EGG ON MY FACE! BY VIRTUE OF SUCH AN EGREGIOUS ACCOUNTING MISTAKE, NRGE’S MENS TEAM LOOKS TO HAVE WON THE FICTITIOUS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.*****
LRC Racing has now completely wrested the title (for now) as the top club in Nebraska.
The start line looks so very different than just a couple of years ago. No longer a sea of Red & White, the Blue & Yellow now dominating the local scene. My boys Pete and Jerrod slowly earning their way to the Very Front.
The Cornhusker is a much better host hotel. The expo and packet pick up went swimmingly. The rooms and accommodations simply excellent.
The epic duel between Bridget Easley and Ashley Miller was one for the books.
Bridget repeated her winning ways this year, with Kelly pacing her the whole way. She deserves ALL the credit. Not sure what everyone else thinks of this, I’m the only one with balls enough to question it. You can see Ashley entering the stadium only a few ticks back. While it was never more than a two woman (and a pacer) race, the top 10 women all finished quite well. Real Racing? Oh My!
The biggest surprise of the day to me was Tom Nichols running to his true potential. Good job Tommy Boy.
Good to catch up with 2012 & 13 winner Mario Macias. We’d never met before but he was well aware of some of my body of work. Great guy, look for him at some upcoming races in the area.
Mas manana.
