A survey of local running websites this morning yields some interesting results. Nothing good either. I guess this column will remain the only Open Source of news, available to one and all. No secret handshakes to check in. Hard hitting, thought provoking, Real.
I was disappointed when I logged on to NDORFNZ this morning to check in. That site is now members only with a log on necessary. No more lurking. Poetic in a way as that was where all charges of “elitism” towards me originated. Where my efforts to educate about USATF and motivate mere mortals were constantly ridiculed and insulted, and ultimately got me tossed from there as being bad for the running community. The same thing would happen earlier this year with my own club. Who the hell is making these decisions? I know.
I was however able to get an NDORFNZ race recap on the Team Nebraska website.
To those that ever doubted my prognostications about the direction of this running community, “I told you so.”
I tossed my M.O. jacket way back in the day.
