“The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” I had planned on penning these words at the base of Stone Mountain, Georgia. We were to have covered 1000 miles at a leisurely pace, smooth sailing, clear skies, wind at our back, road rising up to meet us.
The weather had other plans. The decision to stay put crept over us like the shadow of a cumulus nimbus. Snow, cold, rain and wind scattered across the central plains. And making rare early spring appearances all the way to Atlanta. Well drats. We’ll be sitting rapt in front of the big screen Saturday, cheering.
Hayley Sutter (Boston, MA), Johnny Rutford (Portland, OR) and Tessa Stoltenburg (Omaha) will be representing LRC Racing.
Many of our friends racing, several making their 3rd and 4th Olympic Trials Marathon. We want to wish them all Giddyup!
I’ll most miss those that have stood alongside in the USATF trenches for 25+ years. Friends and peers from across the U.S., my greatest reward.
Linda and I are running 5 miles every other day, walking same on alternates. Slowly working the mileage. Next best day will be our first at the Yutan track, Linda looking at posting up some solid 55-59 age group numbers this summer.
Public service announcement. The Irishman is 3 hours 38 minutes of cinematic excellence. The Joker is the best movie I’ve seen in years. The Parasite is worth the subtitles. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sucked. Marriage Story good for a chick flick.
