I’ve composed a dozen different stories about last weekend’s Ni-Bthaska-Ke Trail Runs, each highlighting some amazing aspect or another of the races. The number one thing I’ll take away from the event is how each and every participant earned a Badge of Courage for completing the “Most Difficult Trail Run in the Midwest”. We billed this as tough and primitive and 509 of you were up to the challenge. It was each of you that defined the success of the event, and for that we thank you. The only thing missing from the race was those of you that didn’t make it.
In any case I am just so proud of our TNB Road Race Management Team. The race has grown from 125 in 2009, 250 in 2010, and now our high water mark for any TNB event ever. We continue to learn as we grow and promise to make next year’s race even better than 2011!
The fact that we operate as a not-for-profit is what sets our races apart. We are not concerned about how many pennies remain, more focused on giving each and every entrant the biggest bang for the entry dollars. That was one sentiment that was shared by most all in attendance. How can we afford to provide beer, hog roast, incredible door prizes, better age group awards, and a cool T for only $25?
We’ve got a ton of great pictures up at our little Flickr.com icon on the lower right. As always those photos are FREE for you to download and cherish, you earned them.
The stories begin manana, thanks for checking in, you might be mentioned!
