The dojo was absolutely packed this morning. Saw dozens of old buddies and far more newer faces. “Just Visiting” did a great job of keeping up with Matt Pohren, Justin Mollak, and Cameron Cummings. We never did catch his name but his wheels were legit. Good to catch up with our mate Nicole Nelson, we worked together on a tough 10 miler this morning including cutting the middle 5 down from 7:40s to 7:20s, she will do Very Well at the upcoming Omaha Triathlon. I’ve mentioned before that Nicole embodies the aura of excellence surrounding TNB. She is a talented runner and triathlete. And a med student at UNMC. And one of the most gifted artists I’ve ever known personally. That really is a hallmark of our young TNB members, successful across all spectra of their lives. Motivated to excellence, nothing less.
Better know another mate: Jared Shuurmans will be throwing the discus for us in NYC next weekend. Jared goes in as the third ranked thrower with a toss of 60.19 meters. He uncorked that one while at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California earlier this year. He was the 2010 NAIA National Champion in the discus while competing at Doane and also won the University/College division at the Drake Relays the same year.
Post collegiate development opportunities. That’s what we do and are always thrilled to advocate for our corn bread and country fed Nebraskans. Nebraska Wesleyan, Concordia, Doane, Wayne State! Give us your Strong! Your Fast! Your Aspiring!
And if you are just rolling into town from parts unknown, be sure and introduce yourself. As Nicole said this morning, “Everybody runs, but if you run for Team Nebraska, that sets you apart”. Thanks for making my morning Nicole!
