The 50th NYC Marathon was yesterday. Some gritty racing, how about Valley ONE Half Marathon Champ Stephanie Bruce finishing a fine 10th overall! Olympic Medalist Molly Seidel setting a new American record over the 5 borough tour.
The Los Angeles Marathon was also yesterday. 2:26 and 2:51 were the winning times. Pedestrian.
The LRC Racing team headed to Indianapolis to take advantage of their flat and fast half marathon course. *Brogan Austin of Colorado took the win in 1:02:24.* Johnny Rutford (19th, 1:06:05), John Cleary (20th, 1:06:13), Nolan Zimmer (28th, 1:07:17), and Jacob Olson (1:07:40).
I really believe they can all run at least 1 to 2 minutes faster at Valley ONE Half next May 14th.
The USATF Nebraska Association XC Championships were also yesterday. LRC Racing took both men and women’s team titles. I had this same challenge when Team Nebraska was the only competitive club in the state, no competition outside of your own club. Still beats any day not running cross country!
Madison Scott ran away from just about everyone in the Youth XC component of the meet. She ran 11:53 over the 3K course taking the 9-10 year old title. Her time also bested all the 11-12 year old girls and all but one of the fellas.
