But first, “To ‘B’ or not to ‘B'”, that is the question! The USA Olympic Trials qualifying standards have been set for 2024. 1:03:00/2:18:00 for the fellas. 1:09:00/2:37 for the ladies. No “B” standards listed.
Big tips of this sombrero! I’ve lobbied against easier marks for the last 3 decades. It will be a tough (impossible?) sell in some places. The debate over whether the Trials are for growing our sport or selecting our Olympians presenting two very different sides. Participation in the Trials have long been a badge of accomplishment. But that badge has tarnished in circles. The Patina of soft times replacing exclusivity of achievement. Now to your race results….
