Looking at Saturday’s 11th annual Boxer 500 results out of Papillion you would never know who the top finishers are.
First place is identified as Race Day Registration. So is 4th, and 8th, and 16th, and 18th. Enough quality to likely win a team competition. A team of unknowns. That paid a registration fee. And are timed and scored. But are left as Race Day Registration in the results.
If you are an event director and and submit to this paradigm I take issue! How difficult, how much extra time, would it take to type the entrant’s name? We are talking key strokes here. What principle anchors a decision to snub paying customers?
I hope more race participants start to disagree with this move and support events that embrace one of the oldest traditions of road racing.
