A lot of local fun stuff this past weekend, please excuse my absence.
Across the pond Sara Hall laid one down for the ages taking 2nd (2:22:01) at the London Flora Marathon. Fellow American Molly Seidel finished 6th (2:25:13).
And some damn serious racing over in Des Moines at the WR Elite 5K. Jay Welp took the win and movied up to number 2 all time Iowa performance in 14:19. Eighteen men under 15:00. Peter Falcon, Nolan Zimmer and Andy Vasquez represented LRC Racing, Jay’s favorite whipping boys. Missy Rock took the win for the women in a very fast 16:09. Elite level racing alive and well next door in Iowa. Nice.
Jay made a habit of beating up on LRC while representing Nebraska Run Guru Elite. Some things never change.
Today I celebrate my two favorite teams. Our DC West Falcon ladies are ranked #1 in Class C cross country. Undefeated on the year, the first and only time any sport from little Valley Nebraska has achieved any state ranking at all.
