To everyone that has supported Team Nebraska Brooks this year. We’ve wrapped up our major events, but we aren’t quite done yet. The 2nd Annual Jingle Bell Run will be held on December 24th and the 2nd Annual Hair of the Dog Run will be held January 1st. As you know both of those events are part of our community outreach efforts with proceeds and donations going to the Food Bank of the Heartland and the Open Door Mission. Doing good things together for the good of the community!
And I do have a whole lot of love and thanks to share. Going to start with anyone that entered any of our races. You should feel good that your participation has contributed to the opportunities of the Good Mates and to the expansion of our outreach programs. The Ni-Bthaska-Ke 12K Trail Run, Swamp Stomp, and Monster Dash are fundraisers for the club, if you entered the Big Blue Run, your entry fees are also helping education and research for prostate cancer.
Next up are our volunteers. Such a great slice of our community, those that give of themselves to a greater good. We absolutely could not have the successful programs we do without those of you that care.
And our Road Race Management Committee: Bill Weeks, Steve Stender, Mike Kunasek, Steven Durant, Ivan Marsh, Beth & Donny Koubsky, Sara & Javier Garcia, Shyamali Vithanage, Mike Reilly, Kyla Vala, Uriah Shaver, Ben Bates, Ben Schultz, Bruce Barnhart, and Danielle Galvin. Also Tom Whitaker and Alan Higley of the Omaha Run Club.
To Linda Barnhart, p-r-o-t-e-g-e.
To Jody Green, to whom I owe the biggest and greatest hug. Better organization equals better product.
To our sponsors, especially Nancy Sutton Moss and the Lincoln Marathon.
To our TNB athletes. We do this for you!
Have to run to an important meeting, I’ll update race results et al in tomorrow’s column.
Giddyup!
