It is a New Day. USATF Nebraska has New Life. If our LDR program teetered on the brink for a couple of years I’m happy to report it is alive, well, and speeding along to a brighter future. What has me so optimistic, even Giddy(up!)? Youth Springs Eternal. And become adults. Before you know it. And it is a particular youth that has my spirits soaring. A wunderkind. A prodigy. A ninja.
Linda and I were honored with the request of working with this young athlete last summer. It became immediately apparent that this was a very special runner. Willing to listen, able to execute. Nothing too unusual in that. What shined through the most was an intangible. Something that if bottled and sprinkled, oh my. It has been our privilege to be involved with such a fine young lady. Biggest Tips to Matt & Kristy, proud parents whose sacrifices and dedication made Madison’s record setting season possible. And to her club, West Omaha Track Club Wolves.
I chronicled the successes of Madison Scott for you last year. She was honored at yesterday’s USATF Nebraska Association Youth Banquet. I’ll let the Association’s accolades speak for themselves.
