One of my favorite races anywhere is the Bellaire Trolley Run 5K in Houston. A huge oval, up one side of a tree lined street, return the other. Pancake flat, USATF Certified, fast as can be.
My oldest buddy from Houston is Ino Cantu. He is 83 years old. At Saturday’s 5K he turned in a World Record 25:10 (8:07 pace). Just wow!
In the same race Houstonian Sabra Harvey, age 68, also ran a World Record, 19:55 (6:25 pace).
Rounding out the fast oldsters was 51 year old Allyson Serrao in 19:41 (6:19 pace). Not a WR, but an amazing time.
Closer to home Colin Morrissey was the class of the field at the Tabitha 10K in Lincoln.

No USATF Certification listed for the race but still a great charity and competitive field. Three women at 38:30 or faster, not sure I remember that ever being done in my Nebraska memory. Bodes well for a competitive spring!
Ino is 83 and faster than you!
