Hope everyone is adjusting to the time change. The bi-annual monkey wrench to our circadian rhythms making things a little funky for a few days.
Did you miss it? Butch the Boxer, Shem the Shephard, Larry the Labrador and seemingly the rest of the pound had one heck of a party last night! The celebration reaching a crescendo between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. Those dogs, carte blanche with our city streets, barking up who the heck knows what (the shadow knows!).
Monday night’s Town Board meeting was lightly attended. Hatch, Croke, and Associates reported a positive audit outcome. This will stand us well when applying for future grants. Discussions continue regarding the trailer court, ordinances and leases the main point of address.
An official Mayoral Proclamation was agreed upon declaring Saturday November 18th as “Drug Free Indiahoma Day.” The date is significant in that it honors my dad’s passing in 2021. We can’t have our kids growing up acclimated to illegal drug activity, that cycle must end. Recognizing and verbalizing the problem is a first step.
The Town of Indiahoma encourages participation from its citizens. If participation is not possible due to a disability, notification to the Town Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting is encouraged to make the necessary accommodations.
The Warriors 2023 basketball campaign is under way. Last Friday they swept Cement. Last night both junior high and senior high girls got the “W”, our junior and senior lads fought bravely but took the loss. We attended the Cement games and came away utterly impressed with the hustle and physicality at this level. Next up is away at Blair, senior high games only with tip off at 6:30.
We recently noticed a herd of 60 elk on this side of West Cache Creek. Bows have been a twanging, meat stored, racks mounted.

Veterans Day is this Saturday. I’m proud that dad, Uncles Ivan, Carl, and Pogo all served. Prompting my own service in the Navy. Salute!
The New York City Marathon was this past Sunday. I worked closely with that event as Chair of USA Track & Field’s Women’s Long Distance Running National Championships (1996-2010). My dear sweet Linda served as the WLDR Athlete Development Program Coordinator during the same era. Our work with the top road races and athletes in the U.S. highlights of our own running careers. Not for the last time, Giddyup!
