The busiest day of the year for me. Can’t interrupt my streak of daily columns so this has to be quick.
I want to wish Everyone great racing, good luck, and Giddyup this weekend.
I also want to say how disappointed I am that The Competitor Group out of San Diego are the new race management team for the Invest in Yourself 5K this weekend. Peak Performance did a great job of creating and managing, this is a tough business.
You’ll see me occasionally promoting a new event that will take place practically in my back yard. The Twin Rivers YMCA is just a couple miles down the road. They have had their annual Freedom Run 10K for the last 3 years. Overall Winner last year was a young lady named Kaci Lickteig. This year’s edition includes a 10K and Half Marathon. The event commemorates and recognizes the service personnel that made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. No better cause in my opinion. Great to hear that the event will be USATF Certified and have a decent prize purse in the Half Marathon.
That’s one heck of a finish line.
